Restless Leg Syndrome
Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS) is a medical condition characterized by sensations in the legs which compel movement. These sensations are most often described as creepy or crawly. Sometimes patients also describe aches, itchy, thorny, dull pain or boring. This disorder is most common in middle and older ages and affects 10-15% of the population. Restless Legs Syndrome is most common and annoying in the evening and at night and can cause trouble falling asleep, and/or repeated awakenings.
At the Heart and Vein Center patients with Restless Legs Syndrome are evaluated for venous reflux. Those with venous reflux or venous insufficiency are treated with either endovenous laser or endovenous radiofrequency.
The results are impressive. More than 90% of the patients report resolution or near resolution of their suffering in 24-48 hours after the treatment. No more use of medications with countless side effects. The recovery is fast and relief is immediate. Patient satisfaction is very high.
